Domestic Violence-related Community Engagement

Speak with our dedicated DFSV community engagement officer for community outreach from Grafton to Coffs and even Bellingen..

Domestic, Family, and Sexual Violence (DFSV) can happen to anyone, and can include:

- Controlling behaviour

- Physical violence

- Sexual assault

- Emotional abuse

- Stalking

- Technology-facilitated abuse

- Financial abuse  - Elder abuse

and more... We can all help by raising awareness about the different forms this can take, and how it is wrong, and... illegal. Did you know Gurehlgam has a dedicated DFSV Communications and Engagement Officer who can have a chat with your mob about this topic?

Maddi, who is based in our Grafton office, leads community outreach across Coffs Harbour City Council and Bellingen Shire Local Government Area, engaging with Aboriginal people, community groups, and organisations to find collective solutions to reduce violence and abuse in our communities.

Her role focuses on advocacy, prevention, and connection —providing information about available support services and referring individuals to our internal teams or other local services when needed.

She also collaborates with organisations across the region and helps coordinate community events that bring services closer to those who need them most.

This includes nature-based activities, such as walking on Country, and other family-friendly events, as pictured here.

Together, we’re building safer, stronger communities.

Help is here.
